This policy explains what Maija collects, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Your learning progress, settings and conversations with Maija.
- Recordings of your voice during spoken classes, so Maija can hear and answer you.
- If you save your account: your email address (or the sign-in from Apple or Google).
- Usage counts (speaking minutes and AI requests per day) to apply plan limits.
- Purchase records from the App Store or Google Play.
How your voice and messages are processed
To run your classes, your speech and messages are sent to our AI provider, OpenAI, which turns speech into text, writes Maija's replies and creates her voice. Recordings are used only to answer you, are not stored by Maija, and are not used to train AI models under OpenAI's API terms. OpenAI may keep them for up to 30 days to detect abuse, then deletes them.

- OpenAI — speech recognition, AI teacher and voice.
- Supabase — accounts, saved progress and usage counts.
- RevenueCat, Apple and Google — subscriptions and purchases.
- Lovable — hosting of the app.
Your choices
- Use Maija without an account, or delete your account and saved data any time in Profile → Your data. You can also delete only your progress or your conversations there.
- Without the app, ask us to delete your account at maija.language@gmail.com. What is deleted, and what is kept and for how long: maijalearn.com/delete-account.
- Turn reminders on or off in Profile.
- Ask for a copy of your data or any privacy question at maija.language@gmail.com.
Children
Maija is not directed at children under 13.
